American airlines cancel flights to Europe on Thursday, and will delay other flights when the air traffic situation is not safe.

This cancellation following the volcanic eruption in Iceland, which spewed volcanic ash so thick that threaten aviation safety worldwide.

David A. Castelveter, spokesman for the Air Transport Association of America, said the company has postponed the flight of more than 100 flights between United States and the United Kingdom on Thursday.

"The next question is how long it will survive the volcanic ash in the air and then linta disrupt flights," said Morningstar analyst Basili Alukos.

Troubled U.S. airline earnings, due to the influence of weather that hit the aviation world, after the economic recession that hit the world.

Bill McGuire, professor at the research center of risks, Aon Benfield UCL, London said, if the volcanic eruption lasted continuously for more than 12 months, the air disturbance will continue.

"The situation will be different. As the eruption that occurred some time ago, the disruption of air flow could still continue," he said.

"Disturbance produced ash clouds can last two days," said the European aviation safety organizations.

Meanwhile, a spokesman for Delta Air Lines Inc., Anthony Black said in an e-mail the nine largest airlines have canceled because of the ash and the possibility of cancellation will be done again until Friday (16/4/2010).
