, tropical storm Colin was upgraded from a tropical depression with maximum sustained winds of 40 miles per hour; the storm approached the southeastern Caribbean Sea from the Atlantic, and is about 945 miles east of the Lesser Antilles moving west-northwest at 23 mph, according to the National Hurricane Center

Tropical Storm Colin formed in the Atlantic Ocean between Africa and the Lesser Antilles of the Caribbean on Tuesday but posed no immediate threat to land, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said.
