As many of you will be aware, the Miss Universe 2010 beauty pageant took place at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas last night (Monday, August 23rd), with Miss Mexico Jimena Navarrete being crowned the winner and Miss Jamaica Yendi Phillipps as the 1st runner-up.

According to a report at aceshowbiz.com, there were a total of 84 contestants in this year’s pageant, but Miss Mexico fought off the competition to be crowned this year’s winner. Miss Australia Jesinta Campbell was announced as this year’s second runner-up.

The 2010 Miss Universe winner will be announce tonight, August 23, 2010, the contest would be held at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Resort in Las Vegas and it will be air live at 9pm ET. The lead singer from the band ‘Poison’, Brett Michaels and Natalie Morales from ‘NBC’ hosting the much expected event. The contest of Miss Universe 2010 was founded in 1952 by California clothing company. The online viewers have already selected the Top 15 candidates for the 2010 Miss Universe beauty contest and now it’s being held in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. The 83 contestants were ranked based on evening gown and swimsuit, during a two-hour presentation at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
As per online prediction and popularity, Maria Venus Raj from Phillipines get most voted contestant, followed by Marelisa Gibson from Venezuela get second most voted contestant and in this competition Ximena Navarrete from Mexico and Natalia Navarro from Colombia get third and fourth voted contestant.
